How can a dress shop "Give Back" to the community?
Lisa Montgomery McSherry has been devoted to our local community from day one. Lex's of Carytown opened in 1996 and Lisa has spearheaded countless community efforts during her years in business. Lisa has served as Vice President of the Carytown Merchants Association, Board of Directors for the Richmond Retail Merchants Association and Committee Chair for Cure by Design to name a few.

"It's important to give back to the community we live in. Each year, we donate $1000s of dollars worth of dresses to the Cinderella Project & the Fairy Godmother Project. These charities provide prom gowns to inner-city girls who cannot otherwise afford them." - Lisa
Lex's supports the Salvation Army's Silver Bells program. This program is similar to the Angel Tree; instead of focusing on children, Silver Bells provides gifts and supplies to senior citizens during the holiday season.
Cure by Design is an event in which the fashion, design and retail communities join forces with the local corporate community to benefit the American Cancer Society. Lex's has been involved with the event series since it's inception. The annual fashion show spotlights designer fashions and, more importantly, cancer survivors who model them.
The money raised at Cure by Design enables the American Cancer Society to fund cutting-edge research, early detection and prevention education, advocacy efforts, and life-affirming patient services. By supporting Cure by Design, Lex's of Carytown is partnering with the American Cancer Society to help cancer patients in our community.
